Mobile Detailing is growing significantly in Burnaby, from Richmond to West Vancouver. Here's a breakdown as to why many locals are choosing not to go through the drive-thru wash service and instead are booking mobile detailers at their residence or condo location.
Five years ago, to get your car detailed in Vancouver, you would have to occupy half a Saturday, drive to the shop, and wait in the waiting room. However, now many drivers in Vancouver book a detailer to come to their home or office instead.
Why the shift is happening
Three things happened at once: People were working remotely, and they were home for most of the day; therefore, they could actually take a service call, unlike most people who have to work in an office. Parking and traffic got way worse in the city, making the model of driving to a car wash shop somewhat of an annoyance. And the standard of mobile equipment improved drastically, as most modern detailers, like us, carry their own water, power, and high-grade tools. These results of the shift in mobile detailing are the benefits of choosing a fixed location.
What customers actually care about
Rarely do new clients consider "price" as a primary factor for booking us when we ask them. Instead, they consistently consider time as the primary reason. A mobile wash can be done without you taking any part of your day, as we do our washes while you're on a phone call, cooking, or walking your dog. This convenience is driving the current trend to an all-time high.
Where it's going next
Expect to see more subscription-style detailing (with monthly maintenance washes). Radiant Wash does not adopt a subscription-style plan, but we will integrate this option in the upcoming year. Traditional shops will continue to exist; however, there is a shift towards mobile detailing for routine washes and interior refurnishing among many Vancouver residents, as they prefer convenience.
